As a board certified, practicing pediatrician, I've worked in the emergency rooms of some of the busiest Children’s Hospitals in the country. I'm also a first generation Asian-American who has struggled with balancing honoring my family and honoring myself. 

During my residency, I realized something was wrong. I had everything everyone said I should achieve. And I was miserable. My struggles took me to some really dark places where I felt lost and invisible, a shell of person with a fancy degree. But my journey has also led me to discover the highest of highs. It took a lot of soul searching, but I finally decided to figure out what was right for me. I allowed myself to express my creativity in new ways and still applied all my organizational and leadership skills.  I learned how to blend my two passions; I endeavored a new way of honoring and respecting my heart as well as my cultural heritage. 

My mission now is to provide guidance to any and all who have experienced the dissonance between who they are and who they want to be. My experience in pediatrics allows me to find and treat the inner child in everyone. A particular passion is helping to guide young Asian-Americans to a path of clarity where every aspect of who they are is allowed to shine. I apply all the skills that I've amassed over my career in medicine, the performing arts, and in life to help people find their true identities and help them live the life that is right for them. 

ACADEMIC PROFILE:

  • Stuyvesant High School, the elite public magnet school of NYC.
  • University of Pennsylvania,  graduated cum laude with a double major in biology and psychology.
  • SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse, Dean’s letter of commendation during the first two years of medical school, graduated top 15% of my class.
  • Long Island Jewish Schneider Children's Hospital (now Cohen's Children Medical Center), completed pediatric residency

LIFE PROFILE:

  • SAG-AFTRA member, who has appeared on The Jeff Dunham Show, several national commercials, and hosted a Disney web-series.
  • HereandNow Theatre Company - stage managed, wrote for, and acted in, a theater company of minority artists in Los Angeles for three years. 
  • iPEC Life Coach - certified Life Purpose Coach through an internationally accredited program by the International Coach Federation
